Coming to the island of Crete you will be arriving at one of its two largest cities Chania or Heraklion, by plane or ship from Athens.
From Heraklion, you can use public transportation to get to Chania and then to Paleochora. Public transportation in Crete is fairly cheap and easy to use

Another option is to rent a car. There is an abundance of rent a car agencies on the island and you can do it beforehand, online, or on the spot arriving at the airport. Prices vary depending on the company and your car of choice could start at around 25 to 40 euro per day.
Finally, a taxi from Chania to Paleochora would cost about 80-90 euro.
THE PEOPLE
Sakarias "The Champ" Larsson was born and raised in Frufällan, on the west side of Sweden. He watched jitterbug contests as a kid and there were some things with the music and the aesthetics of the dance that spoke to him and he decided to learn. One thing led to another and already at sixteen he started practice with The Rhythm Hot Shots (now called The Hot Shots). That was 25 years ago and he's been with the group ever since.
The amount of hours he's spent in the rehearsal studio is probably beyond sane. The recent past years he's focused on sharing what he knows with the younger generation of the Hot Shots. He finds motivation from his friends in the group.
Sakarias is on a never ending world tour in the name of lindy hop with probably 1000s of shows, teaching gigs and competitions. Apollo Theatre, Frankie 95 and 100, Basie Centennial, Last Bounce, Jazz Jam, ULHC, The Jam, several tours in USA, Asia, Australia and Europe (only to name a few). He made it to the finals in Sweden's Got Talent and out of 100s of dancers he was casted among the top 20 to enter the reality tv dance show Floor Filler. He's also one of the founders of Chicago swing dance studio, one of the more famous lindy hop and jazz venues in Stockholm today.
He actually met and knew some of the original swing dancers of Harlem and he was good friends with Frankie Manning. The dancers from the Whitey's Lindy Hoppers are his true idols. But he also finds a lot of inspiration in modern day dancers such as Peter Loggins, Minn Vo, Jeremy Otth and of course Vincenzo Fesi. A few years back he decided to try something else and wanted to be a rock 'n' roller. He started learning the drums and soon joined and started touring with the well recognised band The Vanjas. He's also the drummer of the travelling jazz band Hornsgatan Ramblers. As if that wasn't enough, surfing, playing the saxophone, film making, photography and graphical design are only a few of his other "professions". He's a man of contradictions: a performer with stage freit, a teacher with social anxiety, a people loving lone wolf.
Christina Loukaki, was born on the island of Crete in Greece and she has a degree on English Philology and Literature at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki but dance was always her greatest love. Already from the age of 4, she started training in rhythmic gymnastics and a year later, in traditional Cretan folk dances. She was a performer as a young dancer, for almost ten years and she was teaching already from the age of 15.Later on, she danced ballroom dances, Cuban salsa, Argentine tango and finally 2006, she met Lindy Hop and instantly fell in love with it. Together with Alexandros Marinis and Michael Widmer, introduced Lindy Hop in the country the same year, forming Lindy Hop Greece. These days she is living and teaching in Stockholm, enjoying her travelling seminars and teachers trainings. She loves exploring swing music and believes in the healing power of dance. Her passion is teaching and passing the culture and Afro-American heritage of lindy hop and jazz culture to her students. Christina is a versatile teacher who is interested in pedagogy, several teaching methods and techniques. She has been teaching in several countries around the world for the past 15 years, Lindy Hop, Authentic Jazz, Blues and several theme classes on musicality and self-expression as well as improvisation which a main line of her teaching. She worked with kids in Summer Camps for 3 years where she used Experiential Learning method, also she has been studying and practicing, NVC method for almost 5 years. She is experienced with kids and youngsters.
Fredrik Dahlberg
Fredrik Dahlberg was born and raised in Stockholm. Never had he a thought of becoming a dancer. Instead he spent his days listening to Hip-Hop and playing basketball. He moved to the south side and started to show interest in jazz music. One of his friends took him to a lindy hop class and at first he didn't show much of talent, struggling with what was left and right and up and down. Soon after he joined the famous swing dance company The Hot Shots. How was this even possible? With a mind set on nothing else (that is not entirely true) and some luck some might say. With a big portion of individual style and new ideas he brings something refreshing to the scene. He tried tap (and is still trying), but on the other hand he has advanced in dances like the lindy hop, the charleston and several other vernacular jazz dances which has entitled him several big awards in only a short period of time. He has been teaching in several international events such as Frankie 100, Herräng Dance Camp, Camp Jitterbug and traveled to perform around the globe in such places as Singapore, Greece, Korea, South Africa, Lithuania, China, Australia, France, Brazil, Canada, The U.S. and Mozambique among other. He is also an important part of the puzzle Chicago Swing Dance Studio where he has been teaching, djing, cleaning, providing guests with a smile and dancing at every opportunity he gets. Fredrik is a time optimist and an optimist in general. In his free time, which is almost non-existent, he writes poetry, quotes the Godfather trilogy and watches the NBA. Besides his mother tongue Swedish he also speaks fluent English and practices Portugues. You can contact him through the record store 'runtrunt' where he claims to be working. If he works or not is a good question but at least we know that's where he practices his footworks and crazy ideas. He also plays the trumpet and is learning to play piano.
Delta P (aka Pantelis) has been listening to Jazz since the age of 12 and many years later, he discovered that he could dance to his favorite music. That led him to Thessaloniki where he joined Lindy Hop Greece in 2009 and started jazz dancing. Since then, he has attended several festivals and scenes in Europe and has been trained next to masters and worldwide known jazz artists and teachers.
Since 2013, he has been teaching Jazz dance throughout Greece, attending corresponding trainings, while at the same time sharing his select tunes as dj "dp". For the last few years he has been living in Athens, where he grew up, and is engaged in tap dancing. He teaches and creates along with Irene Ragusini in the Athens Authentic Jazz Dance project.
Pantelis is a dedicated teacher and dancer, full of creativity and love for improvisation and the freedom that Jazz represents as an art form. (...one can become as cool as one wishes to be... - Duke Ellington)

Lizette Rönnkvist
Lizette is a dance teacher and a member of the famous swing dance company the Hot Shots. Swing dancing has been part of her life for a long time as she started dancing at the age of nine in her home town Borås. Todays she is based in Stockholm, Sweden and travels the world to perform, dance and teach various dance styles from the swing era. Lizette puts a lot of value into personal style and a solid rhythm.
Vasiliki grew up in Chania, Crete, Greece and was trained in Ballet, Modern Theatre and Tap Dance since she was 5 (I.S.T.D.-UK). During her studies (Physical Therapy, Neurodevelopmental Treatment, Dance Instruction-I.S.T.D.) she also took musical, contemporary, argentine tango, hip hop and flamenco classes.
In 2009 she started working as a dancer, dance teacher and choreographer in Thessaloniki, where she crossed paths with Lindy Hop Greece, who introduced her to swing dances and soon after, she started focussing on jazz dance history and theater dance techniques. In 2015 she founded Jazz Train-dance community (former Jazz Train studio) and specialized in African-American jazz dances (tap, lindy hop, jazz roots, blues) and Theater Dance, including physical theatre in her research, teaching and creative projects.
For the past 10 years, she is studying with international dance teachers, performing in theater/dance productions and festivals, social dancing, choreographing and teaching her favorite dances in Jazz Train studio and swing teams/communities. She has co-organized international festivals (Swing in Crete, 2016-18. The Big Blues, 2018-24.) and is now organizing “a Little Swing - festival in Crete” and various smaller cultural events in Chania.
As a teacher, Vasiliki believes that taking dance classes and being a part of a social-dance community is more than just a hobby that brings happiness. It is an opportunity for self reflection and improvement. Dance is the only art form in which body and mind are the “tools”, the “process” and the “artwork”. Through neuroplasticity, we can not only improve our movement and social skills, but also change the way that we perceive ourselves and interact with others. “Dance is a breathing art form that captures the essence of human expression.”
"Hornsgatan Ramblers" is a jazz band from Stockholm, Sweden. Their main focus is set on rhythm and swing, from the more or less legal ballrooms of New York in the thirties and forties. The band was started in the autumn of 2009, when a few swing dancers in Stockholm decided to form a band and to start playing the music that they loved to dance to, to explore it further and reach a deeper understanding of it. 15 years later, you can find them in some of the biggest dance festivals in the world!

Organizers
Jazz Train-Dance Community (former Jazz Train studio) was founded in 2015 by Vasiliki Doudoulaki (a passionate dance lover from Crete). She started Chania Lindy Hop and Crossroads Blues communities shortly after with Kostas Kokolakis.
She leads the organizing team of 'A Little Swing,' an awesome group of Chania Lindy Hoppers who contribute to every aspect of the festival's planning and execution.
Vasiliki likes good old jazz music, african-american dances and creating teams that work together to organize "handmade" events such as Jazz Shows, Workshops, Festivals, Social Dances, Theatre Performances, always with a cozy-family atmosphere
